By Train:
The two major railway routes run out of Placa d'Espanya in Palma. The first track, known as ‘Train to Soller’ goes through picturesque Sierra de Tramuntana mountains to the town of Soller. This train covers scenic route since 1912 and highly recommended to enjoy the spice of island.
The other railway route is controlled by Transport de les Illes Balears (TIB) that runs north to Inca and onwards to Sa Pobla and Manacor. The locals call this train as “Leather express” as it runs to Inca, which is famous for inexpensive leather goods.
Metro
The new Metro of Palma de Mallorca was opened on the 25th of April 2007. The main station is located at the Plaça d'Espanya and it has nine stations covering a distance of 7.2 km up to University of the Balearic Islands. These trains run daily from 6.15 am to 11 pm.
